Access to the internet is provided throughout the College and its hostels with over 100 wireless access points and high-speed wired connections.

All wireless and wired connections go through the UDN which will allow you to use any of the University Desktop Services.

All users of the Sidney Sussex College Network must adhere to the Acceptable use of the network terms.

Your computer must be up to date and run an anti-virus solution. See advice here: Security.

If you have any internet connection problems, please report these to us.

Members of the University can access the University's free Wi-Fi networks Eduroam.

If you have a different wireless provider such as Virgin Media in your building, please contact the IT Office for information on how to connect.

Requirements to connect

  • A computer with a built-in Ethernet port or compatible Ethernet adapter
  • Ethernet cable (you can purchase one from the IT Office for £5 which is added to your college bill)
