I came to Sidney Sussex College as Head Gardener in 1987.

My job involves planning and joining in with the seasonal maintenance of the College gardens.

There are four gardeners, including myself, that make up the team and it has been a pleasure to work alongside them for the past thirty – odd years.

The gardens have a very welcoming feel where you can relax on the lawns under spreading mature trees with colourful perennial borders and bedding schemes all grown in our little greenhouse.

Sidney has a warm heart generated by the people within and will leave an impression on all who pass through.

I’m very grateful to be part of this friendly College and consider myself lucky to work in such a lovely environment.
