Hi, I’m Becky, a second year Geographer from Birmingham.
My role is based around ensuring that the disabled students in Sidney have a voice are that their needs are met. I represent a broad group, which includes anyone who self-identifies as having a physical, learning or hidden disability, or also any mental health issues. Being on the welfare committee, I am able to offer advice, support and guidance on anything disability related, including information around intermission or accessibility in college.
I aim to do a big mental health/disabilities survey across College which can then form the basis of a report to be fed back to College, update the freshers' booklet information to include advice for those with disabilities and ensure that College still act on the needs of disabled students through the pandemic.
