Sidney Sussex Society Christmas Reception

We are delighted to invite you to the Sidney Sussex Society's Christmas Reception, which will, once again, be held at The Doggett’s Coat and Badge on Blackfriars Bridge in London. Join us at this fantastic venue overlooking the Thames for a relaxed and informal opportunity to meet up with fellow Sidney alumni over the festive period. 

 The event will begin at 5.30 pm and end at 8.00 pm. Tickets are priced at £15.00 per head. 

Each ticket includes two free drinks, with a cash bar thereafter. Please note that the, unlike previous occasions, a buffet will not be provided. 

Tickets must be purchased in advance and booking will close on 27 November 2021.

Our events policies:

        Filming and photography

Please be aware that there will be filming and photography at events, which may be shared on the College’s website and social media and also on the Sidney Flickr account (which can be viewed by the general public).

Any guests who do not wish to be filmed or photographed should inform a member of the Development and Membership Office on the day or email before the event.

       Amendments to alumni events

Once you have booked for an event online, our system does not allow changes to be made to your booking form or personal details.

       Event cancellations

Cancellations can be made by phone, post, or e-mail.

If your booking was made online please enclose a copy of your original receipt or confirmation e-mail including your reference number.


Please note refunds will not usually be issued for cancellations after the closing date for the event has passed or for non-attendance on the day.

Regrettably, we cannot refund guests when bad weather prevents or discourages travel.

All refund requests must be made by the person who made the original booking or the credit/debit card holder.

Please contact the Development and Membership Office in writing (by e-mail or post) if you wish to enquire about a refund.

Should circumstances arise which cause an event to be postponed, guests will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at any new date.


The Development and Membership Office offers online booking and payment for most events. Alternatively, you can call the Development and Membership Office on +44 (0)1223 3 38881.

To pay by cheque please write to Development and Membership Office, Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge CB2 3HU, enclosing a cheque made payable to ‘Sidney Sussex College’ for the correct amount and include your name, address and all guest details (including any dietary and access requirements).
