Sidney will always be your College. We look forward to welcoming you back for reunions and other events, and hope that you would like to remain engaged with us. There are many ways that you can remain involved in College life.
There are a number of alumni societies connected to Sidney which offer events and activities with other alumni who share your interests or location. There are also opportunities to dine, stay or hold an event in College. College and University members are also able to access libraries and academic journals.
Unfortunately, the College remains closed to visitors as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and government regulations. We look forward to welcoming alumni back to the College as soon as it is safe to do so.
If you would like further information on any of the benefits below then please contact the Development and Membership Office at email@example.com.
- Alumni dining rights and how to book
Dining privileges are awarded to members of Sidney Sussex College who either hold or are qualified for an MA, other Master's degree, or a higher degree from the University, and allow members to dine at High Table three times per academic year on most Wednesday or Sunday evenings during full term.
Alumni members are welcome to bring on guest, though up to three additional guests are welcome if space permits. In special circumstances, the Steward may grant permission to dine in larger groups. The College will do its best to accommodate up to eight alumni (including guests) at High Table on any one evening.
Members' meals will be free of charge, however, there is a charge for wine and any guest's meal and wine. The cost of dining (2019-20) was £24.30 for a meal, £5.30 for wine at High Table, and a further £5.30 for wine with dessert after dinner.
It is customary for members to wear academic gowns to dinner (which can be hired from the Porters' Lodge on the day for £10). Guests (unless they are members of the University) do not wear gowns.
For more information regarding alumni dining rights, including how to book and requests to bring additional guests, please contact the Steward’s PA.
