Dr Michael Ramage and his team have received the newly-established ‘online and remote engagement’ award for their HappyShield project.
Sidney produced a feature about Michael and his team’s work on the HappyShield in April. Their HappyShield project involved developing, testing, and disseminating a novel open-source medical face shield to help tackle severe PPE shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing in particular on production in less wealthy regions around the world.
Michael commented, “We’re delighted to have this recognition, and the hard work of the team has really paid off in developing a robust, simple and inexpensive face shield.”
